    Jessica Dawson

I began my career as a Registered Psychologist by supporting children and their families in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. This experience encouraged me to approach client concerns with a big picture lens. In working with children, it became hard to downplay the impact of a parent’s wellbeing as well as the parental partnership’s functioning on those they care for. In order to provide more comprehensive services, I expanded my practice to include adult and couples counselling. I draw from a number of modalities in order to tailor services to each individual (child, youth, or adult), couple, or family.

I strive to offer clients a warm and non-judgmental space to work through whatever challenges they are facing. I value client feedback and adjust my approach accordingly. I find immense fulfillment in helping clients experiencing a range of concerns, including: depression, anxiety, self-esteem, confidence, life changes and transitions, stress, grief and loss, relationship concerns, and changing habits. I also have extensive experience supporting children with exceptionalities (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, etc.), social skill challenges, executive functioning difficulties, and other parenting challenges.
