In a typical therapy session, I would help you to understand your thought patterns, underlying emotions, body sensations and how they all relate to another and give us information. From there we can find solutions, new perspectives, process experiences and rekindle hope. You may be surprised to discover areas of strength inside of you that you didn’t even realize you have. All this takes place in a warm and accepting therapeutic environment, where you are given the opportunity to safely and confidentially work through life’s issues without feeling judged.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I am trained in both cognitive techniques (CBT, DBT, ACT)* as well as body-focused therapies such as Clinical Focusing and Somatic Processing. When combined, these therapies can help to balance moods and change outlooks.
I also specialize in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based treatment that works by reprogramming distressing memories and images in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions.
